With ancestral roots in the Lheidli T’enneh, Cree and Secwépemc Nations, KYM GOUCHIE is fostering change through her music and art. Her music brings awareness to First Nations and women’s issues, promoting reconciliation and community building while reminding us that we are all in this together. Her stories are a testament to the human spirit, weaving together threads of her own journey from personal tragedy to triumph. Kym’s traditional hand drum, clean, crisp acoustic guitar and full-bodied voice make her a powerful artist. Traditional First Nations, folk, and country tones alongside poignant and inspirational lyrics capture the hearts of young and old — her genuine and heartfelt performances have a profound and sometimes emotional impact on their audience.

Since then they have been cranking out infectious folk pop songs that are jam-packed with emotion and tight harmonies that sound like the product of two people working side-by-side instead of living in different countries.

Ben Cottrill has kept busy in recent years – chosen from 20,000 applicants across Canada to appear on CTV’s music series “The Launch”, he was one of a few select artists working with both Canadian legend Bryan Adams and industry mogul Scott Borchetta on the program.

An ever expanding palette brings a freshness to her brand of ambient indie Americana — or “space-country” as she likes to call it. ABOUT ELISE BOEUR & ADAM IREDALE-GRAY: A founding member of indie-folk band Fish & Bird, Adam Iredale-Gray is a versatile guitarist and fiddler with deep roots in Irish traditional music and a commitment to innovation. Fiddler and Hardanger fiddle player Elise Boeur draws from the wells of Norwegian and Swedish fiddle music, melds in fistfuls of arcane influences, and emerges with a multi-faceted sound grounded in Nordic traditions.

Raine is part prairie songstress, part storyweaver; Each song has a story, delivered between songs with humour and grace. Raine invites the love of the violin into the singer-songwriter genre, writing for violin and voice, as well as for guitar and voice. Joined by cello and upright bass, expect string arrangements that push and pull, that move as they console. A classical violinist and musicologist by training, Raine and the trio offer string-quartet-like arrangements of Raine’s original songs. They call this chamber-folk, a hybrid of the classical tradition of string quartet chamber music, with the singer songwriter folk that comes so naturally to Raine.

ude Pelley was born in Carbonear, Newfoundland, late in 1975; and raised in the rural community of West Dublin, on Nova Scotia's South Shore. He was tremendously inspired by his musical father, Derek Pelley, who played with seminal Canadian folk-rock groups Figgy Duff and Rawlins Cross.

Over the course of his career, Ryan has toured Canada countless times, released five full-length albums, and seen his music licensed nationally and abroad. He has shared the stage with an extremely wide-variety of artists, ranging from Lisa Loeb and Buffy Ste. Marie to Nickelback and Mother Mother. In 2012, Ryan snagged 3 awards (out of 5 nominations) at the Vancouver Island Music Awards (Male Vocalist, Record and Artist of the Year)! Ryan has carved out an almost 20-year career as an independent artist in Canada’s vibrant music scene. He’s always been a genre fence sitter, hanging out on the edges of country just enough to say he isn’t.

A roots balladeer with a rare personal warmth, Alberta’s Scott Cook has distilled the stories collected over 15 years of near-incessant touring across Canada, the USA, the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere into straight-talking, keenly observant verse. He brings humour, a disarming honesty and deep love of humanity to his songcraft and storytelling. He has made his living as a troubadour since 2007, independently releasing seven albums along the way. All the hard miles notwithstanding, he still believes that songs can change your life, and your life can change the world.

Pharis and Jason Romero are pure craftspeople and top-notch musicians. They've won four Juno awards and seven Canadian Folk Music Awards, connecting with audiences through their music, lifestyle, and the sense of joy and ease that comes from this small-town renaissance couple. They live in the wilderness town of Horsefly, British Columbia where they write songs, learn old music, and work as renowned banjo builders J. Romero Banjos.

Grammy Award-winning musician John Reischman has been a foundational mandolinist, composer, bandleader, and musical educator in bluegrass and North American roots and folk music since emerging from the vibrant “new acoustic” bluegrass music scene of the Bay Area in the 1980s. A member of the groundbreaking Tony Rice Unit, Reischman’s mastery of bluegrass, old-time, swing, and multiple Latin American musical styles, coupled with an Old Master’s sense of tone, taste, and musicality, has brought him a global reputation as one of the finest mandolinists of his era.
