Sunday Talk: “Unwelcome Guests: Invasive Plants and Insects in the Similkameen”
July 27 @ 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm PDT

Invasive species may not look dangerous—but they can do lasting damage to our local ecosystems, agriculture, and even our way of life. In this informative presentation, experts from OASISS will introduce some of the most concerning invasive plants and insects threatening the Similkameen Valley, from puncturevine to Japanese beetles.
Learn how to spot them, how to manage them, and what you can do as a landowner, gardener, or concerned citizen to stop the spread. The talk will also cover what OASISS is doing regionally to monitor and control these unwanted invaders.
🗓️ Date: Sunday, July 27, 2025
🕜 Time: 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM
🎟️ Admission: Included with daily site admission OR free with a 2025 Season Pass.
