Contract Opportunity: Pantry Share Program Coordinator

The Grist Mill and Gardens at Keremeos is a twelve acre provincial historic site that features spectacular heritage gardens (both ornamental and vegetable), fascinating heritage buildings and the only working waterwheel-powered flour mill in Western Canada. We also have a small restaurant, gift shop and campground and host a large number of special events through the season.

In the last six years, the Grist Mill has seen incredible growth with a six-fold increase in attendance, thanks in part to a commitment to quality customer service experiences. Fueled by our talented and enthusiastic staff, we are united in our passion to being one of the fastest growing attractions in BC as we work to be an innovative leader in the heritage community.

We’re currently looking for someone who wants to join our team on a contract basis to help support our Pantry Share program,  a subscription-based program where people receive deliveries of scratch-made preserves from local Similkameen ingredients. Last year was our first season, it it quickly became clear that we needed someone dedicated to customer communication and coordination of our pick-up/delivery opportunities–maybe you are that person!

Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for email communications with our Pantry Share customers as well as helping with writing twice-monthly newsletter updates about what we’re making and where the ingredients came from. This person will also help coordinate our various pick-up opportunities with our local contacts in the Lower Mainland and Okanagan and help us keep stats and other useful performance metrics of this program. We anticipate between 50-100 customers in the program this year.

Qualifications:

  • A skilled communicator who’s fun, friendly and passionate about food.
  • Excellent written communication skills for both the news letter as well as customer service enquiries from customers
  • Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office or other comparable software applications.
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.
