Workshop: Learn to Carve (More) Treen
March 17 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm$85
Learn to carve (more) Treen – A follow-up to last week’s class: let’s see what you did during the week – and try more:
- Maybe go all the way from the log to the spoon making your own blanks
- Maybe a ladle
- Maybe a bunch of small spoons for eating porridge
- Maybe start a Kuksa (wooden cup)
- Maybe a shrink box.
There will be demonstration and lots of one on one instruction from the instructor. All necessary tools are provided for the day, and some are available for purchase.
Rick Wiebe is a local carver with over 60 years of whittling and carving experience, who has instructed in a variety of carving genres in many places in Canada, and the US for many years. He has infected a lot of people young and old in many parts of western Canada and the US with the spoon carving “bug”, and would like to spread this benign infection to this local area.
He often presents courses at Lee Valley Tools in Vancouver and Kelowna.
